freelance film & pop culture critic

As a film and pop culture critic, I work across multiple media including writing, podcasting and events. My main focus is genre cinema, particularly horror, but I get involved with anything from Y.A. books to ‘90s TV shows to true crime podcasts to kids films.

I write reviews, essays and articles for various outlets, diving deep into specific movies or taking a broader look at themes and trends, while always keeping a close eye on what’s new.

I co-host the Hammer Time podcast and I’m an Assistant Producer for The Evolution of Horror podcast, as well as regularly guesting on other people's shows including the Empire podcast.

Loving a live event, I also produce and programme film screenings in cinemas around the UK, host interviews and Q&As, and appear on discussion panels.

I’ve worked with, amongst others: Empire, BBC, Arrow Video, Second Sight Films, Severin Films, Shudder, GamesRadar+, Film Movement, National Galleries Scotland, Picturehouse Cinemas, Genesis Cinema, Regent Street Cinema, The Ultimate Picture Palace, Hyde Park Picture House, Tyneside Cinema, Chapter, Cultplex, Mockingbird Cinema, Flatpack Festival, Dundead Film Festival, Grimmfest, and Dark Dukes.
